West Linn was incorporated in 1913 and included the areas of West Oregon City, Willamette Heights, Sunset and Bolton. West Linn's population has grown from 225 residents in 1860 to the 25,000 current residents that currently inhabit its 7.5 square mile area. West Linn's name is derived from the former names Linn City and West Oregon City.
Over the past 50 years, July has been Old Fashioned Fair time in West Linn. This community-driven, three-day event includes skydivers, a parade, an open-air market and more. The open-air market involves area craftsmen, local businesses and public agencies in a beautiful park setting sharing their wares and information to 13,000 plus fair visitors. The event also hosts an official Chili Cook-off.
